a world of gibberish

What a welcome!!! After days of travelling we were surprised at the airport with an abundance of welcome signs held by the TA posse - Ben 'Bibi' Clark, Jacky 'Talia' Lewin, Maddy & Yael..such a nice way to begin our adventure of flakehood. Friday morning shuk trip began with a true Israeli purchase - the ugliest trolley bag we could find to assist with shleping everything...we are now officially Israelis. Shekels quickly disappeared with the purchases of choc chip challah, rougelach, choc covered peacans, chumous & many more delightful shuk treasures. We loved every second of the hussle & bussle, yelling & pushing...possibly because we were completely zoned out post a mere 3 hour sleep. Such joys of Jerusalem!!

Following the hefty effort to get our apartment set up before shab we felt we had deserved the reward of taxing home with the million bags...kind David came to our rescue helping to shove our dear trolley and bags into any space available - its definitely an experience bringing home a bag of 56 toilet rolls!! After small chit chat David generously offered a free lift to the dead sea on the condition that we bring the wine & meat. He assured us it will be an experience we wont forget..."greens" will be included. We considered the offer for a while after...after all..what happens in the holy land stays in the holy land.

Shabbos consisted of a kind hearted visit from none other than Bibi & Talia. They provided us with an education into the israeli TA lingo...peak, flake, merge and noodle were on the top 5 list along with ross brand & merge. Chavs on a mission to reduce the malittude & plans were set in place for a raging Monday trip to their side of the hood....nevertheless flakehood prevailed.

All in all having such a fun time & finding it difficult to stop laughing every second...

Over & out...A.Roth (credit: Talzi)
